I’m Wol (aka. Hywel Lloyd) and I’m the owner of BlackBoats.ie
I’m a guide, coach, biologist, and a scientist in my spare time. Guided coastal rowing is new so I back this up with my previous experience as a BCU level 4 sea kayak guide, REC 3 first aid, and many years guiding White water rafts, kayaks, caving, hiking and general stuff across many countries. My biology career is less active: I gained my PhD in Evolutionary and conservation genetics in 2006 and naturally moved into marine genomics for a while before committing to guiding long term in 2013.
